What counts as a 'credit'?
1 credit = 1 minute of live translation beyond the 8 hours included with Professional each month. Captioning, broadcast sharing, cloud STT, AI summaries, and PDF export are all unlimited on Professional and Team — credits are only for extra translation time.
Do I need a credit card to start?
No. Your 7-day Professional trial begins when you click the magic link in your email — no payment details required. We only ask for a card if you choose to subscribe after the trial.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Cancel from Settings → Subscription in two taps. You keep Professional features until the end of your current billing period, then drop to Free.
What happens to my sessions if I downgrade?
Your full session history stays. On the Free tier you keep on-device transcription for new sessions; cloud STT, translation, and AI summaries are reserved for Professional and Team subscribers.
Do credits expire?
Credits don't expire. A credit is one minute of live translation beyond the 8 hours included with Professional each month — buy a pack and use the minutes whenever you need extra translation. Captioning, broadcast sharing, AI summaries, and exports are always unlimited.
Is there a free trial of Team?
Yes. Subscribe to Team monthly and the first 7 days are free. Cancel before day 7 to avoid charges.
How is this different from CART captioning?
CART captioners are human stenographers — accurate, $150–$400/hr, require scheduling. Live Caption AI is automated speech-to-text using Deepgram's specialized models, available on demand for $19.99/mo. Many events use both: CART for the keynote, Live Caption AI for everything else.
